It’s always nerve-wracking sending off our puddings to those tough judges at Great Taste central! So, when we found out that we’d won three awards: one each for our ginger pudding with ginger sauce and ginger pieces, sticky lemon pudding and tangy lemon sauce and treacle parkin pudding and treacle toffee sauce, we were chuffed!

The judges said our sticky lemon puddings was ‘lemony and creamy with the lightest of sponges; the lemon cuts superbly through the butter” while they loved our ginger pudding for its quality of ingredients.  They also said that it was elegant yet homely with indulgently sweet but balanced spicy ginger flavours.

We make all three puddings to Lea’s recipes created from family traditions and years of experimentation so it is truly fantastic to be awarded more stars from the so-called ‘Oscars’ of the food world.

We also discovered that of the total 12,366 products entered, only 1,011 foods were awarded two stars – less than 15 per cent – and 3,171 were awarded one star. Our puds made up two of the four puddings awarded two stars in the ‘other hot pudding’ category, so we’re really pleased.
